With the release of the album Just Like a Woman - Songs of Bob Dylan, we have made some interesting connections with fans of Bob Dylan and music critics alike. The news of our album landed in the hands of the fine people at Relix Magazine in the USA.
Relix is a magazine that focused on live music, launched in 1974, as a handmade newsletter devoted to connecting people who recorded Grateful Dead concerts. Over the years, it has grown and expanded into a music magazine covering a wide range of artists and they pride themselves on finding new and exciting artists. They loved our versions of Bob Dylan’s tunes and thought it was something their audience would really like too.
Relix featured us in their January/February issue (with The Lumineers on the cover) in their Artists to Watch section and on their sampler CD to over 102,000 of their music subscribers. They mention the Dylan record in their magazine and feature one of my original tunes on their playlist. They selected “Sun Will Shine For You” a co-write with friend and songwriter Brent Mason (and longtime Dead Head) from my album Song in Me.
I’ve been working away in the music business for just over 20 years now - lots of highs and lows along the way, but it has been a pretty cool ride. You just never know what opportunities may arise along the way. Thanks to Relix for reaching out and including us in your cool music magazine!
